Carpetright have today announced that their CEO, Darren Shapland, is to step down.  As the nations leading chain of carpet stores Carpetright have been having a tough time recently - they have been under pressure from the Office of Fair Trading for mis-leading sales techniques and have seen their sales decline.

Is this good for Floors4Home? - well yes and no!  We have seen a healthy gain in our sales over the last 12 months but if Carpetright are suffering this means the UK general economy can not be in great shape - they have long been regarded as a good barometer for the country as a whole.

We have taken these gains in sales and invested heavily in making sure we are able to bring the best online flooring experience possible.  We have increased our ranges by 30% in the last 6 months and have launched our website in a mobile friendly version known as a "responsive website" - this means you can easily view the site on any mobile device such as an iPhone or other smart phone just as well as on a tablet or PC.

We have also had upgrades behind the scene - our new stock control system went live in August and we are already seeing the benefits.  We are also testing, in conjunction with one of our delivery partners, a new innovation that is so important to customers - the ability to give approximate time slots by having a telephone call on the day of your delivery to give an approximate time.  We are awaiting feed back to see if this is possible to roll out as an ongoing feature.

We remain busy as ever making sure we give our customers the best possible flooring, service and value - Look out for more updates in the coming weeks!
