The most popular underlay on sale in the UK today is known as PU underlay, but what is it?
Whilst being a relative newcomer to the UK, PU foam has been the staple diet of underlay in America for a long time. Foam provides an excellent balance of comfort and performance levels with lots of thickness options and density ratings to choose from.
This type of underlay is typically made from recycled foam offcuts from the furniture and clothing industry. The raw material product is brand new so they are no worries about contamination. It also can be recycled after use so really does tick the Green Credentials!
One of the biggest advantages is that PU foam is a light product so it is easy to handle and it also does not dry out and break down like some of the old rubber based carpet underlays.
