This is a question we are asked on a daily basis. The stairs are invariably the heaviest use area of the home so a stair carpet gets the most wear.  It is important to buy a carpet that is suitable for use on stairs and this is determined by its classification - for use on stairs the carpet should be a heavy domestic rating.

The choice basically comes down to the fibre the carpet is made from and its construction.  All our carpets are classed as heavy domestic.  Wool carpets have been known for years as the best quality carpets, however this is not necessarily the case.

Whilst wool remains the fibre of choice for many people it is not always the best carpet.  A cheap wool carpet will be out performed by a medium quality manmade fibre.  But the touch and feel of a wool carpet is hard to beat!

Manmade fibre carpets have come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 years.  Gone are the days when polypropylene carpets felt "plasticy" and attracted dust.  Modern manufacturing techniques have been developed that means not only do you get a stain resistant carpet but you also get a carpet that is pleasing to the touch and eye.

Man made carpets are ideal for stair carpets, bedroom carpets, lounge carpets or dinign room carpets.  Have a look at our extensive ranges and grab yourself a quality carpet at a bargain price today.
