Terrazzo originates from 16th century Italy and derives from the Latin word ‘Terra’ meaning ground, one of the earliest examples of recycling what would have been waste stone chippings left after stone cutting. The product can be traditionally hand poured into a space or made into blocks or tiles to be used on floors or surfaces, moulds have also been created to allow the material to be made into furniture and homewares. Terrazzo is a very durable product and is easily maintained and cared for and is a great retainer of heat therefore a great choice in suitability for under floor heating.
